As the world tries to wrestle with this unexpected challenge in the form of the Corona virus and Covid-19, people have started to use new words, phrases and expressions relating to the Covid and Covid situations. These have been used all over social media and are being used main stream media as well.

So, read on to find out some new terms and words that you may have never come across before.

Covid-idiot

“People who defy covid protocols”

Urban Dictionary defines “Covidiot” as “someone who ignores the warnings regarding public health or safety. A person who hoards goods, denying them from their neighbours.”

Macmillian Dictionary takes a similar approach, defining “covidiot” as “an insulting term for someone who ignores health advice about COVID-19.”

The term is thrown around a lot lately, but covidiots have been known to do things like act like nothing has changed, say COVID-19 is a hoax or overblown, get pissed off when they’re asked to wear a mask, or refer to COVID-19 as “just a flu.”

Covid10

Covid10 refers to the weight gained during the lockdowns (which is apparently estimated to be 10 kgs). It turns out that those work out plans never manifested. And let’s not deny the fact that we also probably weren’t on a strict diet during these times. Hats off to those who actually worked to stay fit though.

But with second and third waves, we cannot afford this to continue. So check what you are eating and ensure you walk at least 6 K Steps each day — 10 K being ideal.

Coronnial

The urban dictionary defines “Coronnials” as “the babies conceived during the “Home Quarantine” practice linked to COVID19. The first wave of Coronnials will be born 9 months after the “Social Distancing” movement has taken hold in your community”. The term is derived from the words corona and millennials and refers to those generally born on or after the outbreak of the pandemic.

Coronacut

Coronacut refers to the haircuts attempted at home during lockdowns. and hey, there is no worry if the cuts don’t turn out great because you don’t have to step out anyway.

When the elements of boredom, curiosity and sometimes necessity combine to produce some haircuts that would never see the light of day if there wasn’t a pandemic, then that’s a Coronacut.
